    Each year, we enroll approximately 3,000 transfer students. To be eligible to apply for transfer admission, students must complete 12 or more hours of transferable college credit after high school graduation.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) is required for admission consideration, except for students with an AA from a Florida community college entering based on an articulation agreement.
  • Official Transcripts:
    All college/university transcripts (sent directly from each institution) an your official high school transcript are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    Official ACT (#0734), CLT, and/or SAT (#5219) results for every test taken are required. Exam results are required for freshman and sophomore transfer applicants. It is recommended that junior and senior transfer applicants also submit test scores.
  • Essay:
    A personal statement is required if you will have attempted 90+ hours of college credit.
  • Application Fee:
    $30

    Some majors and programs of interest have different application deadlines and/or additional admission criteria, such as prerequisites, auditions, portfolios, etc.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    D- is the lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 60 semester hours may be transferred from a two-year institution. There is no limit from a four-year institution. You must complete 30 semester hours in residence at FSU to earn a bachelor's degree.
