Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The minimum college GPA required of transfer applicants is 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Official Transcripts:
    Electronic or official printed transcripts from all post-secondary institutions must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. Students with less than 60 transferable academic credits must also submit their secondary school transcripts,
  • SAT Scores:
    Students with less than 60 transferable academic credits must also submit official copies of SAT or ACT scores.
  • Application Fee:
    You will be asked to pay the application fee of $30.00 online using a major credit card ( Master Card, American Express, Discover, or Visa) or you may pay the application fee by using a personal check or money orders in US dollars.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is D
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A max of 60 lower division semester hours taken at a 2-year or 4-year institution may be counted toward a degree at FIU. A max of 30 upper division semester hours taken at a senior institution may be counted toward a degree at FIU.
