Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Cumulative 2.0 GPA on all college work attempted.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts are required from all colleges attended. High school transcripts are also required if a student has completed fewer than 24 credits, or has been out of high school for less than one year.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT results are required if a student has completed fewer than 24 credits, or has been out of high school for less than one year.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Letters of Recommendation are not required, but can be included at the student's discretion.
  • Essay:
    An essay is not required.
  • Application Fee:
    The application fee is $25.00. If the student visits campus either during an Open House, or schedules a private visit, the fee will be waived.
  • Interview:
    An interview may be requested by the discretion of the admissions counselor.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    All courses which correspond to those offered at Ferrum, and which have been passed with a "C" or better grade, will be accepted for credit towards graduation.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    There is no minimum number of credits accepted, however at least 32 of the last 64 credit hours and 50% of the hours required for a major and minor(s) must be completed at Ferrum.
