Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College share a 120-acre main campus in Fairmont, West Virginia. Partnership allows us to better serve our 7,450 students. Partnership provides students with the opportunity to find their future from more than 145 skill sets, certificates, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees and graduate programs. FSU features a branch campus in Clarksburg, the Gaston Caperton Center. Through Off-Campus Programs, Pierpont offers a variety of courses at more than 15 sites in North Central West Virginia. Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer applicants must have a minimum GPA of at least a 2.0.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official high school transcripts are required if you have fewer than 26 earned credit hours being transferred. Official college transcripts from all previously attended institutions are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    ACT/SAT scores are required if you have fewer than 26 earned credit hours being transferred.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required for admission consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    There is no application fee.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required for admission consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    Immunization Records (if born after January 1, 1957) and a Statement of Activities

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a D or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Max credit hours that may be transferred from a 2-year institution is 36 and from a 4-year institution is 72. You must earn 16 credit hours in residence at Fairmont State to receive an associate degree and 32 to receive a bachelor's degree.
