If you complete the following with AP - Advanced Placement:

  • Calculus AB is designed to be taught over a full high school academic year. It is possible to spend some time on elementary functions and still cover the Calculus AB curriculum within a year. However, if students are to be adequately prepared for the Calculus AB examination, most of the year must be devoted to topics in differential and integral calculus. These topics are the focus of the AP Exam.

You may receive up to 4.00 credits at Portland Community College:

  • The student will develop an understanding of limits, continuity, derivatives and applications of derivatives. Students will communicate their results in oral and written form. Graphing calculator required. Prerequisites: MTH 112 or MTH 116 or CMET 131; and their prerequisite requirements. Corequisite: MTH 251 Lab section.
