If you complete the following with AP - Advanced Placement:

  • Calculus AB is designed to be taught over a full high school academic year. It is possible to spend some time on elementary functions and still cover the Calculus AB curriculum within a year. However, if students are to be adequately prepared for the Calculus AB examination, most of the year must be devoted to topics in differential and integral calculus. These topics are the focus of the AP Exam.

You may receive up to 4.00 credits at Quinsigamond Community College:

  • This course begins with a review of basic concepts of functions and functional notation. After introducing the limit and continuity theorems on an intuitive basis, the study of differentiation begins. Typical derivative formulae are applied to polynomial, rational, trigonometric, inverse trigonometric, implicit, exponential and logarithmic functions. Application topics include extrema, related rates, curve sketching, compound interest, growth and decay, velocity and acceleration. The basic rules of integration and the substitution method are introduced along with Riemann sums and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Prerequisite: MAT 124. F/S/SU
