  • This course is designed to be the equivalent of a college introductory biology course usually taken by biology majors during their first year. Some AP students, as college freshmen, are permitted to undertake upper-level courses in biology or to register for courses for which biology is a prerequisite. Other students may have fulfilled a basic requirement for a laboratory science course and will be able to undertake other courses to pursue their majors.

You may receive up to 8.00 credits at Pasco-Hernando State College:

  • A laboratory investigation into the biology of plants and animals.Topics include scientific instruments, chemical foundations, cell biology, photosynthesis and genetics. This course is primarily intended for those students planning to major in the sciences or for those who need a laboratory course in biology. Lab fee required. 30 laboratory hours. Prerequisite:One year of high school biology and one year of high school chemistry. Corequisite: BSC 2010.
