If you complete the following with AP - Advanced Placement:

  • This course is designed to be the equivalent of the general chemistry course usually taken during the first college year. For some students, this course enables them to undertake, as freshmen, second-year work in the chemistry sequence at their institution or to register for courses in other fields where general chemistry is a prerequisite. For other students, the AP Chemistry course fulfills the laboratory science requirement and frees time for other courses.

  • Explores the fundamental laws, theories, and mathematical concepts of chemistry. Designed primarily for science and engineering majors. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week. Prerequisites or co-requisites: MTH 163 + 164 or equivalent and successful completion of all necessary developmental English/reading courses are pre- or co-requisites for CHM 111. CHM 111 is a prerequisite for CHM 112. Co-requisites: CHM 111 lab for CHM 111 and CHM 112 lab for CHM 112.
