Computer Science A emphasizes object-oriented programming methodology with an emphasis on problem solving and algorithm development and is meant to be the equivalent of a first-semester course in computer science. This course introduces computer programming in a Windows environment to solve problems and process information. Topics include algorithms, decisions, repetition, files, arrays, procedures and graphic interface design using Visual Basic. Prerequisite: Prior completion or concurrent enrollment in MATH 122 or MATH 132, or three years of NYS Regents math. 3 Cr. (2 Lec., 2 Lab.) Fall and spring semesters.
