AP Art History is designed to provide the same benefits to secondary school students as those provided by an introductory college course in art history: an understanding and enjoyment of architecture, sculpture, painting, and other art forms within historical and cultural contexts.

Allowable Times for Credit: 1.00 Maximum Credits Allowed: ACH: 51.00-56.40 Lab: 0.00- Credits: 3.00- Contact Hrs: 3.00- Lecture: 3.00- Prerequisite: Minimum of grade of C in READ 100 or satisfactory test score. Covers the history of Western Art from prehistory to the French Revolution. The course will examine past societies as they expressed their culture and ideas through their art.
