Equivalency Details

The information presented is an unofficial guide to how courses may transfer. Other factors to consider are grades received in the courses, the year in which the course was taken, and the major pursued after transfer. In all instances, final decisions about acceptance of course credit will be made by Community College of Philadelphia.

If you complete the following at Tallahassee State College:

  • Prerequisite: satisfactory placement score or satisfactory completion of MAT 0024 or MAT 0024C. MAT 1033 cannot be taken for credit by any student who has C or better in any higher mathematics course. This course carries elective credit and does not count toward the six hours of mathematics required for the A.A. degree. Major topics include linear equations, linear inequalities, systems of linear equations, inequalities in two variables and their graphs, introduction to relations and functions, rational exponents, operations with rational expressions, complex fractions and rational equations, operations with radical expressions and radical equations, and quadratic equations. Application problems of various types are included to reinforce skills and concepts. Each section of this class will contain a computer component which will require students to complete on-line computer assignments out of class, either at home or in the computer labs provided on campus. A scientific calculator is required for this course, it does not have to be a graphing calculator. Check with your instructor for the most appropriate type of calculator. This is a lecture course, 3 hours of elective credit will be awarded, again, the course does not satisfy the TCC math requirement. A special fee applies to all students who register for this course.

You may receive up to 3.00 credits at Community College of Philadelphia:

  • Real numbers, polynomials, rational expressions, algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities in one variable, absolute value equations and inequalities, linear equations in two variables, graphs of lines, systems of linear equations in two variables, quadratic equations in one variable, problem solving. An on-campus, in-person departmental final exam is required with no calculators allowed.
