  • This course is designed to provide a foundation for a vocabulary of medical terminology to facilitate learning in the health science curricula and appropriate communication - both oral and written, within the healthcare community. Emphasis is on the definitions, pronunciation, and proper usage of the basic elements of medical terms. Common medical abbreviations will also be included and interpreted.

Credits awarded for incoming transfer courses will be determined when an official transfer evaluation is completed upon the receipt of official transcripts. Credits taken on a quarter system are adjusted for semester credit hour conversion. Total number of transfer credits awarded is dependent on the Wilmington University program of study and up to the 90 credit maximum.
