This course covers the real number system, basic properties of real numbers, operations with fractional expressions, simplifying complex fractions, powers and roots, operations with radicals, graphing linear equations and inequalities, and factoring of polynomials.

  • An introduction to algebraic literacy using properties of real numbers, solving linear equations and inequalities, geometry, ratio and proportion, applications, graphing, solving linear systems, exponents, scientific notation, polynomials, factoring, and solving quadratic equations. Learning strategies for mathematics success, including development of a mathematical growth mindset are integrated into the course.The course fee includes math assistance from tutoring services. Does not count toward graduation. Prerequisite: Math 0950 or equivalent placement.
