This course is an introduction to the Word of God and its relevance in modern society. Students will investigate questions such as, How was the Bible inspired by God yet written by man? How was the Bible transmitted from the original authors to modern versions? How were the books selected to be included in the Bible? How should the Bible be understood in light of God's self-disclosure in a specific culture and time? What does it mean to study the Bible in an academic setting? How should the Bible be interpreted and applied in light of diverse cultures in the 21st century? Students will learn basic methods of Bible Study. Prerequisite: BIB105. This course is required in the liberal arts curriculum. Three hours.
