(3 sem. hrs.) An introduction to Physical Anthropology. This course considers the origins, development and variation in humans by examining the physical relationships between humans and other primates, the biological and cultural evolution of our species and variation within existing populations. Finally, the course will consider modern human adaptation and its effects on ourselves and our surroundings. (Spring Only)

3-0-3 Offered Fall Semester Prerequisite: SOC 101 or ANT 101 or PSY 201 or PSY 103 or PSC 201 or permission of instructor This course includes an exploration of human origins, human evolution, human prehistory, and cultural existence from its less complex forms to early civilizations. The course also includes an introduction to the concepts, methods, and data of physical, biological, and archaeological anthropology.
