Equivalency Details

The information presented is an unofficial guide to how courses may transfer. Other factors to consider are grades received in the courses, the year in which the course was taken, and the major pursued after transfer. In all instances, final decisions about acceptance of course credit will be made by University of Utah.

If you complete the following at Utah State University:

  • This course is a continuation of electrical circuits and basic circuit elements concepts. Topics include second-order RLC circuits, AC steady-state analysis, steady-state power and three-phase circuits, filters, and Bode diagrams. Lab work is required. Prerequisite/Restriction: One of the following: ECE 2250 ENGR 2210 And one of the following (can be taken concurrently): MATH 2280 MATH 2250
    Credits
    3.00
  • Students learn time domain analysis of higher-order systems, including impulse response and convolution, and Laplace transform analysis of circuits and systems. They study frequency domain analysis, discrete Fourier series, Fourier transforms, and analog filter design. Some computer programming is required. Prerequisite/Restriction: Admission to a USU major ECE 1400 with C- or better One of the following with a C- or better: ECE 2290 ENGR 2210 And one of the following with a C- or better: MATH 2280 MATH 2250
    Credits
    3.00

You may receive up to 4.00 credits at University of Utah:

  • System design using electrical and computer engineering concepts. Design, evaluate, build, test, and debug linear analog circuits using independent voltage and current sources. Topics will include an expansion on linear circuit analysis techniques to include Laplace Transform techniques and an introduction to Fourier Transform techniques. Additional topics include RLC circuits in addition to higher order circuits, AC power, and Filters. Lecture and lab components are in corresponding, co-requisite courses. Prerequisites: 'C-' or better in (ECE 1050 AND 1240 AND 1245) AND Full Major or Minor status in Electrical Engineering OR Computer Engineering Corequisites: 'C-' or better in ECE 2245 AND 'C' or better in (MATH 2250 OR MATH 2280 OR MATH 2281)
    Credits
    4.00
