  • An introductory course in General Biology. This course helps students build on their knowledge, replace their misconceptions with scientifically useful conceptions, and construct meaning from their learning experiences. It is a study of life with emphasis on the cell and continues through the levels of organization. Major areas of study include cell theory, energy transformation and evolution. Also, selected biological systems will be surveyed to compare life forms with emphasis on the human form so as to give the learner better understanding of their own body and health issues. This course is to be taken concurrently with BIOL1001 General Biology Lab. 3 credits.
