3 Semester Hours This is the second in a two-semester sequence in accounting required of all business majors and is a prerequisite to all other accounting courses. Building on the basic understanding of accounting systems developed in ACCT 211, managerial accounting introduces concepts of cost behavior and analysis, as well as techniques for using operational and fi nancial information within the business fi rm for decision-making, planning, and control. Prerequisites: ACCT 211 with a minimum grade of C (2.0) and MATH 112 or 131.

Study of the generation and analysis of accounting information and its use by managers as they engage in planning, control and decision-making activities in business and non-business organizations. Topics include product costing, cost-volume-profit analysis, profit planning, variance analysis, relevant costs for decision making and capital budgeting decisions.
