An introduction to statistical methods, including: organization of data, graphical representation of data, measures of location and dispersion, elementary probability, theoretical frequency distribution, sampling, estimation, hypothesis testing, correlation, regression, analysis of variance. This course is of particular interest to students major ing in business, education, social and biological sciences. ( Prerequisite: Algebra I and Algebra II or MTH 101)

This course includes the following topics: introductory probability and statistics, including organization of data, sample space concepts, random variables, counting problems, binomial and normal distributions, central limit theorem, confidence intervals,and test hypothesis for large and small samples; types I and II errors; linear regression; and correlation.
