This one-semester course in microbiology stresses the principles and applications of microbial activity, with emphasis given to the bacterial types. This course stresses the role of micro-organisms in disease, ecology, sanitation, industry, and public health as well as considering sterilization techniques, pure culture techniques, and other aspects of microbial control. Basic Microbiology is recommended for students in biology, pre-med, pre-dental, nursing, and related medical fields. (3 lecture and 3 laboratory hours per week).
