If you believe, as we do, that education opens doors, empowers and transforms; if you insist, as we do, that the world of ideas demands diversity… then this is your place. We are a coed, residential Catholic liberal arts and sciences college with over 2500 undergraduate and graduate students representing 35 countries and 33 states and territories. We sit on 17 acres in the midst of the excitement, resources and culture of Boston. Our neighbors are the world-class surgeons of the Longwood Medical area, the Monets and Gauguins of the Museum of Fine Arts… and 250,000 college students at institutions across the city.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
The Admissions Office reviews applications on an individual basis and does not have minimum "cut offs." In addition to assessing your grades, focus is given to the rigor of your academic program. The middle 50% of our admitted students have between a 3.0 and 3.8 GPA.
  • Official Transcripts:
Your high school guidance/college counselor may submit your final high school transcript by mail or the Common Application site. We require official transcripts from each post-secondary institution attended, with grades from the most recent semester.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
Your recommendations should include one from a recent college professor or advisor, and another academic teacher of your choosing. Two are required.
  • Essay:
You may complete an essay with your Common Application or submit a recent graded writing sample.
  • Interview:
While not required, an interview with an Admissions Counselor is recommended to help the Admissions Committee learn more about your background and interest in attending Emmanuel.
  • Other Requirements:
To allow for appropriate credit evaluation, you must submit catalog descriptions for each of your completed and in-progress courses.
