    We currently participates in transfer agreements with all community colleges in WA and OR, and specific community colleges in ID and MT. Graduates who complete the approved Direct Transfer Agreement degree satisfy general education requirements.
  • Technical/Vocation Credit Accepted:
    Credits from a technical college do not transfer to Eastern Washington University unless they meet an equivalent course at EWU.
  • Credit For Life Experience:
    Adult students who have acquired substantial specialized training outside the classroom can earn college level credit.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    If you have 40 or more quarter hours of transferable credit at the time of application you are admissible IF your cumulative GPA is a minimum 2.5. If your cumulative GPA is between 2.0 to 2.49 you must show completion of English Composition and Intermediate Algebra with a 2.0 or better in order to be admitted. If you have fewer than 40 quarter hours of transferable credits at the time of application, you must satisfy the high school core course requirements and have a 2.0 cumulative GPA in all transferable college-level courses.
  • Official Transcripts:
    If you have fewer than 40 quarter hours (less than 27 semester credits) of transferable credit, in addition to college transcripts you must submit high school transcripts.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have fewer than 40 quarter hours (less than 27 semester credits) of transferable credit, in addition to college transcripts you must submit SAT or ACT composite scores and satisfy the high school core course requirements .
  • Essay:
    An Insight Resume is required with your application.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a non-refundable Application Fee of $50.00.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a C or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A max of 90 quarter hours of credit earned at a 2-year college may be applied toward the bachelor's degree at Eastern, 135 from a 4-year college. You must earn 45 credits in residence to receive your bachelor's degree.
