We offer over 30 one- and two-year program options, as well as short term and specialized training and retraining courses for business, industry, and community. We award associate in applied science, associate in science, and associate in arts degrees; certificates; diplomas; and documents of completion for customized, short-term programs and courses. At EMCC, we prepare technicians and skilled workers for careers in mechanical, engineering, and construction industries; allied heath professions; and business occupations. We develop programs of study in cooperation with experts currently working in representative areas of technology and business.

  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    While students have the primary responsibility for financing their post-secondary education, there are Federal, State and college grants, scholarships, loans, and student employment to assist them. Financial aid is based on the student’s annual completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the availability of funds.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    Transcript(s) of all previous college work sent directly from each institution attended are required, as well as official high school and/or adult education transcripts.
  • SAT Scores:
    Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores must be sent directly from the College Board or the high school for applicants who will graduate or have graduated from high school within the previous three years.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Two letters of recommendation must be sent directly from the evaluator for applicants to the Medical Radiography, Nursing, and Surgical Technology programs.
  • Essay:
    An essay is required for Medical Assisting, Medical Radiography, Nursing and Surgical Technology applicants.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a non-refundable $40 fee to apply.

    Some programs have additional requirements.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Generally, courses with grades of C (2.0) or better which are judged by Eastern Maine Community College to be equivalent to Eastern Maine Community College course offerings will be transferred.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Students may transfer courses not to exceed 75% of the total required credits and 65% of the total technical course credits in a major field.
