Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Applicants with 30 or more semester hours must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 grading scale based on ALL college-level work attempted AND a 2.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale from the last institution attended.
  • Official Transcripts:
    The submission of official transcripts from all previously attended institutions is required. You official high school transcript is required if you have less that 24 transferable semester hours.
  • SAT Scores:
    Applicants with fewer than 24 semester hours are required to submit official ACT/SAT scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    EIU does not publish a requirement for letters of recommendation.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required for transfer admission consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $30 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    A personal interview is not required for transfer admission consideration.
