Eastern Connecticut State University began in 1889 as a Normal School preparing teachers for careers in Connecticut’s elementary schools. Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    There is a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for transfer admission consideration.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official college transcripts from all previously-attended institutions are required, as well as your official secondary school transcript including proof of graduation and/or General Education Diploma.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT I or ACT scores are optional for course placement purposes only.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    ECSU does not publish a requirement for letters of recommendation; however, you must submit a statement of good standing from your prior institution.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $50 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    While interviews are not required of students applying for transfer admission, the Admission staff may request an interview with certain applicants to obtain additional information or clarify information.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The minimum grade required for transfer credit is a C-.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The maximum number of credits accepted for transfer is 90. You must earn at least 15 credits at ECSU to earn an associate degree, and 30 credits to earn a bachelor's degree.
