    We encourage all families to fill out the FAFSA, as 73% of our students receive some form of financial assistance. ECU has scholarship opportunities for transfer students.

  • Accepts Transfers:
    Each year, ECU welcomes about 2,400 new transfer students.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA for all college-level coursework attempted is required of transfer applicants.
  • Official Transcripts:
    ALL official transcripts from each college, technical institute, or university attended are required. If you have less than 24 transferable credit hours, your official high school transcript or GED score is required.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have less than 24 transferable credit hours, standardized test scores are required.
  • Essay:
    Students have the option to provide a personal statement, which can be completed within the transfer application or can be emailed after submission.
  • Application Fee:
    $75 nonrefundable
  • Other Requirements:
    Only courses with a grade of C or higher from regionally accredited institutions are eligible to transfer and can be used to gain admission.

  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A minimum of 25% of the credit hours required for your baccalaureate degree and at least 50% of the total hours required in the major must be completed at ECU.
