Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Drew takes a holistic approach to reviewing your application for admission. Admission decisions are based on the strength of your academic record as well as extra-curricular involvement. We will consider your college grade-point average, essay and recommendations. If you have earned fewer than 24 college credits, we may also consider your high school grades and course of study. Transfer students are not required to submit the results from standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT, but may choose to do so.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts are required from all colleges previously attended as well as high school transcript or GED scores.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT Scores (optional)
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    An instructor reference from one of your college level courses is very useful and used to support the application.
  • Application Fee:
    $40 application fee is required. Applicants with extenuating circumstances may request a fee waiver.
  • Interview:
    Interviews are not mandatory. However the Office of College Admission reserves the right to request an interview.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    Earned an Associates Degree (AA or AS)? We guarantee you transfer with a minimum of 64 credits and junior status.
  • Other Requirements:
    In addition to the above, International Students must also submit TOEFL scores and a course by course evaluation of foreign academic credentials. Please visit our website for more details regarding International Transfer Student admission.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Transfer credits are granted for courses in which you have earned a C- or better (on a 4.0 scale) and are comparable to courses offered at Drew. Credit is not granted for basic skills or remedial course work.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Drew allows you to transfer up to 80 credits. To earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Drew, you must complete at least 128 credits, with a minimum of 48 credits taken at Drew.
