Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Not published.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Drake requires the submission of official transcripts from every previously attended postsecondary institution. Official high school transcripts are required if you have fewer than 24 semester hours of college credit completed.
  • SAT Scores:
    You are required to submit official SAT/ACT scores if you have less than 24 semester hours of college credit completed.
  • Essay:
    Drake requires the submission of a personal essay, 250 words minimum, as part of your application for admission. In addition to your essay, the admission committee gives applicants the chance to submit an optional video statement.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $25 non-refundable application fee, which is waived if you apply online.
  • Other Requirements:
    Auditions are required for Music majors/minors and Theatre majors.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Credits (Min/Max):
    You may transfer 94 academic semester credit hours for all majors except pharmacy (178 credits). A max of 66 semester hours may come from 2-year institutions. A minimum of 30 semester hours must be completed while in residence to earn a degree.
