  • Accepts Transfers:
    Students who have matriculated at a college and who have completed two years or less of college coursework at the date of application are eligible for transfer admission.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    A College Official's Report with College Transcript, updated in May/June with final Transcript and end-of-year grades are required. High school transcripts are also required.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT or ACT or a testing waiver is required. Test optional for the Class of 2026.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Dartmouth requires two evaluations from college instructors.
  • Essay:
    Dartmouth’s transfer application includes two essays.
  • Application Fee:
    The transfer application fee is $90 or you may request a fee waiver.
  • Interview:
    Interviews are not available for Transfer applicants.
  • Other Requirements:
    If admitted, year-end college transcript and course syllabi for all college courses will be needed for review by the Registrar and academic departments to determine credits.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    A C is the lowest grade for any course that may be transferred for credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Dartmouth accepts a maximum of 17 courses for transfer. You must complete 18 courses at Dartmouth to earn a bachelor's degree.
