Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    If there are more than 45 semester credit hours transferring in, the minimum GPA is 2.0. 30 or less semester hours require a 1.8 GPA and 15 or less semester hours must meet a 1.6 GPA.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Submit official transcripts from all previously attended colleges. Students with fewer than 30 transferable semester credit hours submit official high school transcripts.
  • SAT Scores:
    Students with fewer than 30 transferable semester credit hours submit standardized test scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    A statement of good standing from your previously attended institution is required.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required for admission consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    $20 if online application is submitted; $30 is paper application is submitted.
  • Interview:
    A personal interview is not required.
  • Other Requirements:
    Submit Certificate of Immunization.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    "D's" will transfer in provided that the GPA does not fall below a 2.0. Freshman English Composition I (ENGL 1101) requires a minimum of a "C" or better in order to transfer.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    You must complete 20 credits at Dalton State to earn an associate degree, and 30 credits to earn a bachelor's degree.
