Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    High school transcript, GED or DD form 214 showing date of graduation/completion. Students contact previously-attended institutions to request official transcript(s) to be sent to DCTC for evaluation.
  • SAT Scores:
    The assessment for course placement is used for both math and writing courses: qualifying college credit, high school GPA, standardized test scores (ACT, SAT, MCAs, etc.), guided self-placement, ACCUPLACER scores.
  • Application Fee:
    Students wanting to be admitted to DCTC and use financial aid will begin the process by submitting an application and paying the $20 non-refundable application fee.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Transfer credits need to have a grade of C- or higher to be considered for transfer. MnTC courses with a grade of D or better are eligible for transfer into DCTC.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Courses approved for transfer must be required by DCTC in the student's major. Courses must be comparable in nature, content and level while matching at least 75 percent of DCTC course content and goals.
