  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    After factoring in Cornell grants, loans and work-study, the remaining portions the total annual cost for each family. This is a combination of the parent and student contribution. Students are asked to contribute to the cost of their education through summer employment and a portion of the student’s savings or trust. Families with a total family income of less than $60,000, and total assets of less than $100,000 (including primary home equity), will have no parent contribution and no loans.
  • Tuition and Fees:

Information for Transfer In Students

  • Accepts Transfers:
    You must apply as a transfer student if you’ve graduated from high school and earned 12 or more credits at another college since then. If you are enrolled as a full-time student at another institution, you are also considered a transfer student.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    We require your official secondary/high school transcript(s) and official transcripts from all colleges attended. Official transcripts must be submitted directly to us from the issuing institution.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have previously taken the SAT or ACT, you should have an official score report sent to Cornell by the testing agency. It is not necessary to take the SAT or ACT if you have not previously done so.
  • Essay:
    The Cornell Questions and Writing Supplement (CA) are required of all applicants. These sections include important Cornell-specific information.
  • Application Fee:
    Applications must be submitted with the $80 application fee or fee waiver in order to be considered.
  • Interview:
    While most of our colleges and schools do not require or offer an interview, an interview is required for architecture applicants and strongly recommended for fine arts applicatns.
  • Other Requirements:
    An Academic Evaluation, A College Report, and a Mid-Term Report are required. Each of our undergraduate colleges or schools may have specific requirements and prerequisites that you’ll need to meet, or require supporting materials.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade that will be accepted for transfer credit is a C.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The maximum number of credits accepted for transfer is between 45-60. You must complete 45-60 credits at Cornell to be eligible to earn a bachelor's degree.
