Information for Transfer In Students

  • Accepts Transfers:
    Apply as a transfer student if you’ve completed high school, home school, or a GED and have enrolled in at least one credit hour at a post-secondary college or university.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    As a transfer student, you must submit official transcripts from your high school and any college previously attended.
  • SAT Scores:
    While test scores are not required for admission, you may choose to submit your results from the ACT or SAT. Columbia uses these scores in awarding some merit-based scholarships.
  • Essay:
    Please provide a short personal statement that outlines your goals for your enrollment at Columbia College Chicago.
  • Application Fee:
    $25 nonrefundable
  • Other Requirements:
    If you are applying to a BFA or BMus program, a portfolio or audition is required. For BA or BS students, samples aren’t required for admission, but we do invite you to upload any creative work you feel strengthens your application.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Credits (Min/Max):
    No minimum number of transfer credits is required. The maximum number of accepted credits is 75. The final 12 credits required for graduation and a minimum of 45 credits toward your degree - 15 required for the major must be taken at CCC.
