Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Strong candidates for transfer (or second bachelor) admission have earned a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale); applicants must have a minimum 2.0 GPA in order to be considered.
  • Official Transcripts:
    One official transcript from high school and from each college/university attended. Faxed transcripts are not accepted.
  • SAT Scores:
    Test scores are required for all applicants who are under age 23. Transfer applicants are encouraged to submit ACT or SAT results in order to determine placement into college composition.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    One recommendation from a teacher or school-based counselor is required.
  • Essay:
    Minimum 250 words required. Your essay should be focused, honest, and well-written in your own words. Quality is more important than quantity.
  • Application Fee:
    $50 nonrefundable application processing fee or approved fee waiver.
  • Other Requirements:
    Tell us about experiences you have had that have set you apart from your peers, that have impacted you, that have helped you set personal goals -- and how that experience has prepared you for success at Colorado State.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Colorado State awards credit in transfer for college-level academic courses completed with a grade of C- or better.
