Colorado School of Mines is a public research university devoted to engineering and applied science. Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official college transcript(s) from ALL colleges attended are required. Student must provide a final high school transcript or copy of their GED.
  • SAT Scores:
    ACT or SAT test scores are not required if the student has completed a minimum of 30 credit hours of college credit.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    A Statement of Good Standing from your previous institution is required.
  • Essay:
    An essay may be required of some applicants.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $45 Transfer Application processing fee.
  • Other Requirements:
    Student must have completed the same high school course requirements as entering freshman. Completion of trigonometry and enrolled in Calculus I or beyond. Enrolled in and/or completion of chemistry with lab and/or physics with lab.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Courses with grades of C or better may be eligible for transfer credit. Please keep all course work (syllabus, graded quizzes and exams, homework assignments) from all math and science courses.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The maximum semester hours accepted for transfer is 110. You must earn 30 semester hours at Mines to earn your bachelor's degree. Credits earned more than 10 years in advance of admission will not transfer.
