    Our goal in admissions and financial aid is to bring the best students to Holy Cross, no matter what their financial circumstances. Holy Cross is one of a select group of colleges and universities that accept students regardless of their ability to pay (“need-blind admissions”) and then meet 100% of their need, as calculated according to nationally recognized financial aid criteria.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Not published.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Your official high school transcript, as well as official college transcripts from all previously attended institutions are required (including current-semester courses).
  • SAT Scores:
    The submission of standardized test scores is optional.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Two Professor Recommendations are required. A Statement of Good Standing is required as well.
  • Essay:
    Make sure you have answered all questions thoroughly and precisely. Remember, you are your best advocate, so take some time when completing each section of the application. If the forms do not provide enough space, feel free to use additional sheets.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $60 fee to apply.
  • Interview:
    Interviews are highly recommended.
  • Other Requirements:
    Course descriptions are required. If your current semester courses are still in progress, a midterm progress, the mid-term report available at www.commonapp.org should be submitted by the application deadline.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Only grades of C or better, earned in courses taken at an accredited institution, will be accepted by the College.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    To earn a Holy Cross degree, students are expected to complete a minimum of four full semesters (and 16 letter-graded courses) at Holy Cross or in a Holy Cross program. These four semesters must include the two of senior year.
