  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    One of the MOST IMPORTANT steps to take is to complete and submit the FAFSA. It is the way to apply for student financial aid from the federal government, including the Pell Grant, Perkins Loan, Stafford Loan and work-study. The FAFSA is also required by all state schools and most other school student assistance programs.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    If the student’s cumulative GPA from a previous institution is less than a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, CSM will review only those courses with a grade of C or better.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Submit an official transcript of all credits to be evaluated sent from each institution, at which credits have been earned. Transcripts should be sent within the first semester of attendance
  • SAT Scores:
    Not published.

    There is no application fee.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    If GPA from previous institution is less than a 2.0, CSM will review only courses with a grade of C or better except if student is from a regionally accredited Maryland public institution then CSM will accept credits in which a grade of D is earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Typically, students may allocate up to 30 transfer credits toward an associate degree or half the credits required for a certificate.
