Cleveland State University was established as a state university in 1964 and has continued to grow since. Cleveland State has 200 major fields of study at the bachelor, master, doctoral, and law degree levels, as well as professional certificate and continuing education programs. The campus consists of 85 acres--the largest footprint in downtown Cleveland--with 40 buildings used for teaching, research, housing, administration, and recreation.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Minimum GPA - 2.0 (Fenn College of Engineering - 2.2, College of Education and Human Services - 2.5).
  • Official Transcripts:
    High school transcripts are required if applying with less than 12 transferable credits. College transcript(s) are required from every institution attended.
  • SAT Scores:
    Applicants who graduated high school fewer than five years prior to their application date must also submit official ACT or SAT scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Not required for admissions consideration.
  • Essay:
    Not required for admissions consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    Yes, $30 nonrefundable fee must be submitted with the application.
  • Interview:
    Applicants to the Department of Music must complete an audition.
