Chatham University is home to over 2,200 undergraduate and graduate students. Chatham’s Shadyside Campus includes the historic, 39-acre Woodland Road campus and Chatham Eastside at Fifth and Penn Avenues next to Bakery Square. The Eden Hall Campus, the first campus in the world built for the study of sustainability, is located on 388-acres of organic farmland and forests and includes programs focused on sustainability, food studies and more. Chatham University is a comprehensive Master's level, fully accredited institution.

  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    Transfer students receive competitive scholarship consideration. Merit aid (based on academic performance) is provided up to $20,000 per year. Those students involved in Phi Theta Kappa can receive an additional $2,000 in scholarship. Additional scholarships and awards are available including academic scholarship interview days for up to $3,000.

    The official transcripts from each college or university attended are required for admission. Transfer students with an earned Associates Degree do not need to send high school transcripts.

    Chatham is a test optional institution. Test scores are not required.

    One letter of recommendation is recommended but not required for admission.
  • Essay:
    An essay or writing sample is recommended but not required for admission. The essay topic can be of applicant's choice.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Transfer credits are accepted from accredited colleges and universities where the student has earned a C or higher. A preliminary evaluation of transfer credit is made at the time of admission to provide an indication of class standing.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Transfer students must successfully complete 30 of their last 36 credits at Chatham and must successfully complete more than 50% of the credits required for their major in order to graduate from Chatham.
