  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    You can be considered for need-based financial aid awards, including a combination of grants, loans and work-study. More than 80 percent of our students receive some financial assistance. Recognizing community college transfer students who have demonstrated outstanding academic and leadership achievement, it is an award of $20,000 per year. The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is awarded to active Phi Theta Kappa members who are applying as transfer students.

    If you have graduated from high school (or the equivalent) and enrolled in college courses, you can be considered for transfer admission to CWRU.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended are required. An official high school transcript is required unless you graduated two years prior to entry at CWRU, have earned an associate degree, or completed 45 credit hours.
  • SAT Scores:
    Test-Optional
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    A recommendation from a college instructor is required.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is required.
  • Application Fee:
    $70
  • Interview:
    An interview is recommended.
  • Other Requirements:
    Transfer College Report, indicating you are in good standing and eligible to return to the college you most recently attended.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    A minimum grade of C is required for any course that may be transferred for credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    You must complete 60 credits at CWRU to earn a bachelor's degree.
