California Lutheran University offers undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs through its College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business and School of Education. Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Minimim or a 2.75 transferable GPA.
  • Official Transcripts:
    With fewer then 28 transferable credits, then high school transcripts are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    With fewer then 28 transferable credits, then SAT/ACT scores are required.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Letter of recommendation is required from teacher or counselor. The letter of recommendation is waived if the applicant is 24 years of age or older, or has a 3.0 GPA.
  • Essay:
    The essay portion of the application allows us to learn a little more about you, as well as how you think and express yourself.
  • Application Fee:
    Non-refundable application fee of $45 for paper applications and $25 for online applications
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required for admission to California Lutheran. However, we welcome the opportunity to meet applicants.
  • Other Requirements:
    Complete college level english and a college level math course (statistics, college algebra, finite math, pre-calculus, or calculus) with a C or better.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a D or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A transfer applicant must have a min of 28 credits completed or else must apply as an entering freshman. Maximum number of credits or courses that may be transferred from a two-year institution is 70 and from a four-year institution is 70+.
