  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    As you begin your journey to college, an important step is to apply for financial aid. This process begins with applying for the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is required for state, federal and some CBU Aid. We offer academic scholarships for transfer students based on GPA: Platinum (3.75) $10,000, Gold (3.5-3.74) $9,000, Blue (3.0-3.49) $7,500, Bronze (2.5-2.99) $6,000.
  • Tuition and Fees:
    Estimated Annual Expenses: $34,918 Tuition, $2,410 Fees, $10,710 Housing and Meal Plan. This is the cost for shared-occupancy housing and includes the minimum required meal plan for residential freshmen students.

Information for Transfer In Students

  • Accepts Transfers:
    To be considered a transfer student when you apply to CBU, you must have completed 24 or more units from an accredited college or university. Don’t worry if you have not completed 24 college units yet, you can apply as a first-time freshmen.
  • Transfer Agreements:
    CBU has Articulation Agreements with many local California community colleges, which outline courses and their transfer equivalencies at CBU.

  • Minimum GPA:
    A minimum GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) is required for transfer admission consideration.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official, sealed transcripts from each college or university attended are required. If you have completed less than 60 units of transferable college credit, then you must send proof of high school graduation.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have taken the SAT/ACT/CLT, you can submit your scores for English/Math placement.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is required.
  • Other Requirements:
    A statement of good standing from prior institutions is required.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    C is the lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 70 semester units may be transferred from a two-year institution, 100 from a four-year. You must complete 36 credits at California Baptist to earn a bachelor's degree.
