The College of Staten Island is a four-year, senior college of The City University of New York that offers exceptional opportunities to all of its students. Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Students transferring from any accredited institution must have a GPA of 2.0 or better.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Arrange to have transcripts from all colleges/universities/proprietary schools that you have attended sent directly from the institution issuing them. In addition, an official transcript is required from all high schools you have attended.
  • SAT Scores:
    You may be exempted from taking the CUNY/ACT basic skills assessment tests due to your SAT, Regents scores, or if you completed 45 or more credits from an accredited American College/University.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $70 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Other Requirements:
    A completed Transfer Evaluation Form is required before meeting iwht an Academic Advisor.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The maximum number of credits that can transfer is 90. To obtain a degree, students must earn a minimum of 30 credits at CSI. To qualify for a bachelor's degree, students must earn 50% of the credits required for the major at CIS.
