The mission of Bryn Mawr College is to provide a rigorous education and to encourage the pursuit of knowledge as preparation for life and work. Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Bryn Mawr does not publish a minimum GPA requirement for transfer admission consideration.
  • Official Transcripts:
    All official high school transcripts or GED equivalent, as well as all official college transcripts are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    Official SAT or ACT scores (test flexible policy is optional for transfers) are required.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Two professor recommendations and one dean/academic advisor's report (College's Official Report) are required.
  • Essay:
    There are essay questions on both the Common App and the Bryn Mawr Supplemental Application.
  • Application Fee:
    There is no application fee required to submit an online application through the Common App website. A $50 fee is required for applications submitted by mail.
  • Interview:
    Interviews are strongly recommended for transfer students. Interviews should be completed two weeks prior to the application deadline.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    To receive transfer credit for a course, you must receive a grade of at least 2.0 or its equivalent.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Transfer credit is only given for courses in the liberal arts. The maximum number of transfer credits accepted is 16. You must earn 64 credits at Bryn Mawr to earn a bachelor's degree.
