  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    The BYU-Idaho Financial Aid Office has the responsibility of helping student's understand their financial aid options, verifying financial aid documents, and releasing funds to the BYU-Idaho Bursars Office. BYU-Idaho's Bursar Office is responsible for all disbursement and charges made to the students' accounts. Financial aid encompasses any financial resources from federal aid to scholarships.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    There is a minimum GPA of 2.5 for transfer.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Send official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities by the application deadline to the Admissions Office.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/Act scores are only required if you have less than 30 credit hours and are following the new student application guidelines.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Every prospective student who applies to BYU–Idaho is required to submit an ecclesiastical endorsement from a current Bishop and a Stake President.
  • Essay:
    The current essay question is: “What sets you apart from other applicants, based on unique educational or life experiences, personal or family circumstances, obstacles overcome and/or achievements?” (300 words or less)
  • Application Fee:
    The nonrefundable, one-time application fee is $30.
  • Interview:
    A scheduled interview is required. As interviews can take time to schedule, applicants are encouraged to start this process early.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    Students transfering with an Associate of Art or Science degree from an regionally accredited college will fulfill all BYU-Idaho Foundations requirements except FDCNC 250 and any uncompleted Eternal Truths (Religion) requirements.
  • Other Requirements:
    Seminary attendance is an important factor for BYU-Idaho applicants.
