  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    The mission of the Financial Aid Office is to provide education and information, guidance, and support for individuals and families interested in the financial aid process. In this role we: Process applications, Determine eligibility, Exercise stewardship over funds, Adhere to the rules and regulations governing the distribution of aid, Minimize procedural barriers, Provide efficient service to students who have completed the necessary requirements.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    If you have earned at least 14 transferable credits and have a cumulative 2.25 GPA or higher, you will be admitted with regular admission. If you have earned an AA/ASor or are core certified and have a 2.00 GPA, you will be admitted with regular status.
  • Official Transcripts:
    The submission of official college transcripts is required. If you have fewer than 14 transferable semester credits, you may be required to submit your high school transcripts.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have fewer than 14 transferable semester credits and are under 21, you are required to submit your SAT/ACT scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    BSU does not publish a requirement for a letter of recommendation.
  • Essay:
    BSU does not publish a requirement for the submission of an essay. The application form does not request one.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $50 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    BSU does not publish a requirement for an interview.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    If you have earned an associate degree at a regionally accredited institution, you will be considered “core certified.” This means that you have fulfilled the lower-division general education classes at Boise and can transfer with junior standing.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The minimum grade requirement for credit transfer is "C."
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Min of 14 credits to transfer. University policy only allows for 70 credits of transfer work from a community college to be used for graduation. Your final 30 of 36 credits for a baccalaureate degree must be completed at Boise State University.
