Blackburn College, founded in 1837 and affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), provides a coeducational student body with a rigorous, distinctive, and affordable liberal arts education that prepares graduates to be responsible, productive citizens.   • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    Blackburn’s tradition of attracting top students is in part a result of a comprehensive financial aid program of academic scholarships, grants-in-aid, loans and its nationally recognized College Work Program. In order to be considered for any type of Financial Aid, a student must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Blackburn’s priority deadline date is April 1st.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    In order to qualify as a transfer student at Blackburn College, you must have earned a minimum of 12 semester hours of transferable credit at a regionally accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 2.0
  • Official Transcripts:
    You must submit official transcripts from ALL colleges or universities previously attended.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you will be transferring in with less than 24 transferrable college credits, please request a copy of your ACT or SAT scores to be sent to Blackburn College.
  • Essay:
    An essay of 250-500 words on a topic picked from many provided on the application is required.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $20 non-refundable application fee.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Only courses with a letter grade of “C” or better may transfer into Blackburn College. (Pass/Fail courses are not accepted in transfer.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Blackburn College accepts up to 92 semester hours of credit from community colleges or four-year institutions. Your final 30 hours of your degree must be completed at Blackburn.
