Bishop State is a state-supported, open-admission, urban community college located in Mobile, Alabama, consisting of four city campuses dedicated to serving the residents of Mobile and Washington counties. We are part of the AL College System, the state-supported network of 2-year community, junior and tech colleges that serve the residents of AL. We offer transfer programs for students wanting to continue their education at a 4-year school, or for those who seek to start careers right away, our 1- and 2-year career programs can put students on the fast track to rewarding jobs. Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A transfer student whose cumulative GPA at the transfer institution(s) is 2.0 or above on a 4.0 scale with a required 30 hours of coursework will be admitted on Clear academic status. A student whose cumulative GPA is less than 2.0 scale will be admitted only on Academic Probation.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Applicants who have previously attended another regionally accredited or Council on Occupational Education accredited postsecondary institution will be required to furnish official transcripts of all work attempted at all said institutions.

    Bishop State does not publish minimum/maximum credit requirements for transfer.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A transfer grade of “D” will be accepted when the transfer student’s cumulative GPA is 2.0 or above.
