Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) is required of transfer applicants.
  • Official Transcripts:
    If you have 24 or more college credits, submit official college transcripts from EVERY college/university you have attended. If you have less than 24 hours of college credits, submit official high school transcripts.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have less than 24 hours of college credits, SAT/ACT test scores are required.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is required.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a non-refundable, non-waivable application fee of $50.
  • Other Requirements:
    A statement of good standing from prior institutions may be required of some applicants.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be considered for transfer credit is C. Transferred grades of “D+” or lower may not be used for major, minor, or general education requirements.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 64 credit hours may be transferred from a two-year institution, 96 credit hours from a four-year. You must complete 32 credits at Belmont to earn a bachelor's degree.
