Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The minimum GPA required for transfer admission consideration is 2.0.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official academic transcripts from all institutions attended are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    An official ACT or SAT score report is required if you’ve attempted less than 12 college credit hours.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    A letter of recommendation may be submitted voluntarily by the student or may be requested by the admission office if student does not meet minimum requirements for acceptance.
  • Essay:
    An essay may be submitted voluntarily by the student or may be requested by the admission office if student does not meet minimum requirements for acceptance.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $25 non-refundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    An interview may be submitted voluntarily by the student or may be requested by the admission office if student does not meet minimum requirements for acceptance.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    A grade of D will be accepted for credit if the student has a general average of C at that school.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A total of 64 semester hours of credit will be accepted toward a degree at Belhaven. The last 60 hours of credit applied toward a degree at Belhaven University must be earned at a senior college. The last 31 hours of work must be earned in residence.
